Dubai Industrial City is not one industry but six distinct sectors, and the brief was to honour each while making clear their power lies in what they form together. The periodic table gave us the language. Every zone became an element with its own symbol, number and name, and the line ELEMENTS OF BRILLIANCE carried the evening at Jumeirah Emirates Towers. Illuminated acrylic elements lit up inside the VIP invitation box when it opened, and six stylised chocolates, one per zone, sat at every place setting.
The pre-function was built around the same system: extruded, illuminated elements rising from the registration backwall and feature wall, six element totems explaining each zone’s place in the ecosystem, an illuminated chevron service bar, a media wall and a piano podium. Inside the ballroom, a curved LED screen was flanked by side panels of LED strips that adapted to the content. The awards followed suit, a matte black monolith with the chevron precision-cut through its face and a blue light rising from within, engraved with the recipient’s name. Dark on the outside, brilliant within.
