The brief was to let a select group of clients feel what Cullinan promises, the wild experienced effortlessly, without a long journey breaking the spell. The day opened at the showroom with a meet and greet, and a pre-drive briefing with the marshal team before a convoy of Cullinans flowed from city highway to open sand in a single drive. Forty minutes from the showroom, the Al Wathba desert offered true wilderness with an equally easy return home.
Dinner was moments from the dunes at Al Mabeet, the Bedouin-inspired open-air camp at Al Wathba Desert Resort, set well away from the main resort for complete privacy. Lantern-lit paths led guests through sandstone corridors to a walled courtyard where two long candlelit tables ran toward a framed double-R monogram standing against the horizon, with built-in seating, a fire pit and live cooking around the edges. Between courses, guests composed a bespoke scented candle with on-site artisans, had their initials foiled into a leather piece beside the pressed double R, watched a cigar hand-rolled at a half-moon table, and took something sweet from a rose gold-striped ice cream cart. Open skies above, a fire glowing, and nothing left to do but enjoy the evening.
